It might not be the best in the trilogy, but the last flight of Toothless soars to impressive heights. ![]() While many animated films tend to pander to younger audiences or litter themselves with pop culture references, How To Train Your Dragon stands tall as a franchise which beams the soul and passion of its creators. ![]() The Hidden World should be celebrated for bringing its carefully-crafted story to a natural, memorable close. If you don’t feel your heart swell in the closing 20 minutes, you’re probably dead. While the end result of Hiccup and Toothless’ friendship isn’t a curveball, the conviction in its execution is admirable – calling back to the first film in touching ways which are satisfying and impressively thought-out. DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon is a sweet film that, despite a valiant effort, never truly rises to.
